Working With Me

If you've found your way to this page, you're probably past wanting inspiration. You want to know what actually happens. So here's what actually happens.

It starts with an application

Before anything else, I ask you to apply. Not to make you jump through hoops. It's because I need to know we're a good fit, and so do you.

The application is a short form, mostly simple choices, built to be manageable on a difficult day. I read every one personally, and I reply to every one. If it looks like a fit, I'll invite you to a consultation call — a real conversation about where you are, what you've tried, and whether this work is right for you. I'm as interested in that question as you are. It isn't a sales call and you won't be asked to decide anything on the day.

One thing matters before you apply: it has to be you. Not your partner, not your parent — you. This work runs entirely on your own decision to do it. If someone who loves you found this page and wants it for you, I understand completely. But the right moment is when you want it.

The Foundation Programme

The Foundation Programme is twelve weeks and twelve sessions, one to one. We meet weekly for an hour, on Zoom or by phone — whichever your body prefers. The first session runs ninety minutes, because that's where I learn your whole story.

Twelve weeks is where the work begins, and I want to be clear about that. It steadies the ground, builds your first real evidence that change is possible, and opens the deeper work that makes recovery last. What it is not is a course you sit through. Every session is built for you, from where you are that week.

The Four Phases: the map we work from

Everything I do follows one map — The Four Phases.

Stabilise. We stop the boom-and-bust cycle and give your body something it may not have had in years: order, predictability, safety. Your nervous system isn't broken — it's overworked. This phase is where it finally gets to stand down.

Build Capacity. We turn fear into evidence. Not pushing through — starting so small it almost feels absurd, and letting your body learn, through experience it can trust, that more is safe. Safety is built from actions that didn't end badly, banked one at a time.

Align. The deeper question underneath most chronic illness: is it safe to be you? This is where we work on the patterns that brought you here — the over-functioning, the boundaries that were never allowed, the person you had to be. This is the phase that makes recovery hold.

Expand. The deliberate return to a life worth having. Not "more energy" — real moments. Dancing at a concert. Skiing with your family. Back on the bicycle.

The map is fixed. Your path across it isn't. Recovery is not a conveyor belt, and nobody moves through these phases in a straight line — we go where your body and your life need us to go, and the map means we always know where we are.

What sessions are actually like

The way it works is simple. You bring the topic, I bring the method.

Sessions open with a real conversation, not an agenda. Whatever you bring — a crash, a family visit, a fear you can't shake — that's the material. My job is to know what to do with it: which thread matters most, how deep to go, which of the tools I've built over hundreds of sessions fits this moment. You'll leave most sessions with one thing to carry — one, not ten — sized so your worst day can still manage it.

And between sessions, you're not on your own. If something lands hard mid-week, you message me. That offer is real, and my clients use it.

It's always me

Every session is with me. The person you speak to on the consultation call is the person you'll work with in week one, week nine, and every week after — not a team trained in my approach, not an associate you're handed to once you've signed up. Me.

I'm not saying that to sound impressive. It's how the work works. Recovery isn't twelve separate conversations; it's one long thread, and I hold all of it. Something you mention in passing in week two, I'll remember when it comes up again in week nine. Nothing has to be explained twice and nothing gets lost in a handover. The person who knows your whole story is the person in the room, every time.

It's also why I keep client numbers small. This only stays true if I never take on more people than one person can genuinely hold.

Bespoke, not improvised

People sometimes hear "no fixed programme" and think it means I make it up as I go. It's the opposite.

The architecture of this work never changes: The Four Phases, the same operating principles in every session, a documented playbook for the situations that recovery reliably throws up — the crash after a breakthrough, the fear that rises as health returns, the family that doesn't understand — and a library of forty named interventions, each one refined across hundreds of hours of client work.

What's bespoke is the sequencing. Which tool, in which order, at what depth, at what pace — that follows you. A fixed programme asks you to fit the plan. This is a system that adapts to the person. That's not less rigorous than a protocol. It's considerably more.

What I don't do

  • No protocols to buy. There's no branded diet and no one-size plan. I do give direction on supplements, diet and the physical side, and if something physiological is worth testing we test it, for you, as an experiment, and we drop it if it doesn't fit.
  • No symptom-chasing. A new symptom isn't met with a new fix. We ask what pattern it belongs to. Symptoms are messages, not malfunctions.
  • No pushing through. Nothing in this work asks you to override your body. Expansion happens on a foundation of safety, or it doesn't happen.
  • No false hope, no timelines, no guarantees. My confidence comes from the process, not from promises. And setbacks are never failure — they're data, and we use them.

Who this is for — and who it isn't

My clients are usually people who have carried a great deal for a long time — capable, responsible, the one others lean on — and who have already tried a great deal. If you've been dismissed and disappointed and you're still looking, you're in the right place.

It's not for you if you want someone to hand you a protocol and check your compliance. And it's not the right time if someone else wants this more than you do.

I work with a small number of clients at any one time. That's by design — this is high-touch work, and it only works at that depth.

After the twelve weeks

The Foundation Programme is the beginning of the work, not the whole of it. Many clients choose to continue beyond it, because that's where the deepest work, the Align and Expand work, gets its full time. Continuing is always your call, and I'll never assume it.

And you should know what I'm working towards. My job is to make myself redundant. Success is you not needing me — back in your life, and living it.

There is a way forward. It starts with an application, and that's the first small step of the work.

You were right to keep looking.
